Scottish Tartans Society notes for this tartan don't exactly make sense

A Baillie tartan is mentioned by Telford Dunbar in his 1962 'History of Highland Dress' when he states that it appeared in William Wilson's stock list of 1800
the sett is the same as the Black Watch but usually woven in lighter shades with azure replacing the dark blue of the Black Watch

It was claimed to be the sett of a 'relic from the '45' and published as such by D. W. Stewart in his book 'Old and Rare Scottish Tartans' in 1893. It has become more widely known in recent times. There is also an Atholl district tartan. This, with two slight colour variations is also Lindsay the black changes to blue and the red changes to maroon.
