Roman Fortuna Intaglio Signet Ring coral Two of the panels haveDATE: Intaglio, Roman c. 3rd Century Ring Mount, c. 1880 An excellent antique signet ring set with an ancient Roman (!!!) carnelian intaglio depicting the goddess Fortuna. The intaglio is set in a Victorian ring mount, modelled in 9 karat gold and dating from the 1880s. Fortuna was the Roman goddess of fortune (clue is in the name) and the personification of luck. She remained popular throughout the Middle Ages, and through into the Renaissance era.
