Constructed of silver, on loop for suspension from its period original ribbon, the obverse bearing a raised and crowned monogram of Prince Heinrich XIV, the reverse bearing a wreathed inscription of FR VERDIENST (FOR MERIT), the suspension loop joined together by a sword clasp, unmarked, the medal measuring 32. 85 mm in diameter, the sword clasp
